I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1995. Two years later my older sister was diagnosed with MS. Since then I have participated in the three MS150 bicycle tours in Texas every year. The rides are huge fund raisers for the Texas Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Naturally, bicycle tours are scheduled during good weather months...meaning warm weather. I found out fairly quickly after diagnosis that heat is the enemy of folks with MS. It saps our strength and recovery can take hours to days. Keeping cool means a more normal lifestyle, including riding a bicycle as well as just mowing the lawn on a 90 degree day. The Avacore cooling device has been wonderful for me. It has allowed me to be able to participate in living my life normally, albeit with more organization and planning.
I had the device set up and running at the "Bicycle Expo" the night prior to the Valero MS150 ride. I described how it worked and the benefits it gave me to at least a dozen people. Most of these folks were people with MS. There was another group represented as well, the hard core racing bicyclists. They see the cooling physiology as a way to recover quickly and therefore not expend energy cooling their body, but using the saved energy to recover and repair.Muchlike the Australian national teams did during the Athens Olympics, and various teams in the Tour de France this year. I hope you have gained a new following for your product. It continues to be valuable to me. Thanks.
